Celebrating the Koi Award Nominees – 2025
August 3, 2025Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce Announces Return of Holomua 2025 & Ko‘i Awards
After a multi-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the profound impacts of the 2023 Maui wildfires, the Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce (MNHCC) is proud to announce the return of its signature event.

Previously known as the Hui Holomua Business Fest, the event has been rebranded and will return this year as HOLOMUA 2025, a revitalized gathering honoring Maui’s resilience and showcasing the excellence of Maui business, leadership, and cultural stewardship.
The event will also bring back the Ko‘i Awards, MNHCC’s renowned award celebration honoring Maui entrepreneurs, businesses, and community leaders. The event will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Grand Wailea Maui.
The day-long conference will open with cultural protocols at the Kamehameha Statue, followed by inspirational keynotes, dynamic panel discussions, engaging workshops, and the vibrant Mākeke (marketplace) highlighting Maui-based and Native Hawaiian-owned businesses.
This year’s theme, Maui Mahope: Imagining our Future Maui, invites us to look forward with intention, drawing from ancestral values to guide modern solutions. Through keynote speakers, thought-provoking panels, and interactive workshops, Holomua 2025 will explore the intersections of culture, commerce, and community resilience. As Maui continues to recover and rebuild, this theme urges us to envision a future grounded in Native Hawaiian knowledge, driven by equity and innovation, and inspired by the strength of our people.
The evening will culminate in the Ko‘i Awards Gala, celebrating leaders who uplift and empower our lāhui.
The Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce, founded in 2005, has worked for over 20 years to strengthen Maui’s business and nonprofit community through networking, education, cultural engagement, and economic development. Holomua has long served as its premier annual gathering, uniquely blending professional development with cultural pride and creating space for meaningful community exchange.
The Ko‘i Awards honor excellence in leadership, recognizing individuals & organizations who shape and uplift Maui and all Hawai‘i through incorporating traditional knowledge and practice into business, honor and uplift Hawaiian culture, and dedicate their lives to the betterment of their communities. This year’s honorees include Mercer “Chubby” Vicens, Clifford Nae‘ole, Office of Hawaiian Affairs Trustee Carmen “Hulu” Lindsey, Kumu Hula Hokulani Holt-Padilla, Bobby Pahia, and Wayne Wong. In addition to this year’s honorees, a special award will also be presented in memory of Hoapili Ane and the Living Pono Project.
“Our community has faced incredible adversity in recent years, and this event is a chance to reaffirm who we are, celebrate those who lead with aloha, and support the future of Native Hawaiian culture and values as central to business and leadership,” said Kainoa Horcajo, MNHCC President.
General admission tickets are on sale now at www.holomua2025.org, with early bird pricing available through August 31.
